Where I stayed
Seoul is a great capital city to visit for any traveler on their way to another destination. The metro is really clean, the food excellent, and the quality of life is very high.
we came here not knowing what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised. the Ritz Carlton is around $250 a night, which isnt unreasonable, and this included an upgrade to the club and free spa usage. the spa in the RC is wicked good.
B met some kids that went to university and about to graduate and drank many rice wine with them one night that have promised to come and visit in Austin. we look forward to having them, and am glad that US and Korean citizens agree that Kim Jung Il is a "crazy fly"
shockingly, we went shopping to stock up on some clothes thinking they would be affordable, so we went to Banana Republic, but all of the prices were 100-200% the prices in the US. I guess here the brand is viewed as exotic. A ribbed cotton tee shirt was $150, mens khaki pants were $180 US , and sweaters started at US $300. its funny how much perception affects prices. and its also ironic since most of these clothes were made in Asia. we didnt buy a thing, it was all too expensive.
great meals here in Seoul, often 5-10 courses can be brought out and dinner can be a 3+ hour experience if you arent careful. so long as you keep down the RWC (rice wine count) you will feel good and refreshed since the food isnt too filling. but a hi RWC ensures the next day you spend a lot of time in bed, and in the mens room and the spa.
we would totally recommend Seoul to other travelers en route to another destination, great big city with all you need to make you comfortable and happy.

RWC vs MWC
Here in Austin, you have to beware of the MWC (margarita woman count). Same symptoms as RWC. I'd heard that Seoul was really great, so glad to hear your recommendation. Looking forward to the next blog, in the meantime, be safe.
