We arrived at Port Macquarie and were told we just missed the big wet. They had 10 inches rain just before we got here. Lucky us! The days have been nice and sunny, the nights clear and cool. Have done a little fishing from the break wall and left today when the old bloke next to me caught a huge bream(bout 3lb). Nothing wanted my lures except yakkas.Michael caught a little sweep and James lost a good fish under the rocks. We spent the day at an old place called Timbertown. Fantastic fun, rode in a horse and buggy, got robbed by a bush ranger, learnt about bullock teams and learnt how to crack a whip. All this and sampled some good wines and ports. The sun was nearly over the yard arm....We highly recommend a day there as the kids found so much was actually fun to do. After leaving took a detour to Ricardoes tomato and strawberry farm. The kids and Julie picked a whole bucket and cost only $7.50. Julie said the tomatoes were delicious. The sundowner park is very tidy, clean and right on the water. Stacks of sites spread right down the break wall. Good spot. Off to Coffs Harbour next.....
