From Puerto Madryn it was another 20 hours on the bus back to to Buenos Aires, where I organised a flght to Salta in northern Argentina. I must say I felt quite pleased with myself managing to pay for my ticket over the phone by credit card as well as book the hostel with my terrible Spanish.
I arrived in Salta last night and have spent today wandering around. THe city is interesting because it is such a change from Buenos Aires, but apart from the main square, some of the churches and the cable car which gives great views over the city there doesnīt seem to be heaps here. It is a good base though for trips to some of the amazing desertīs and national parks in the region, but it is likely that Nick and I will be back here in November, so I donīt want to see too much in advance, and instead I am taking a bus early tomorrow morning across the Andes to San Pedro de Atacama in CHile.
