Day 32 November 20 Auckland and the Tasman
Eventually sighted NZ and had a wonderful scenic flight across the North Island and in to Auckland. Had to go through security to get in to the terminal to organise our new tickets to Brisbane. I went through and then AL just didn't come out. Oh my god!! Sat outside the door and then he eventually came out and said we couldn't keep the duty free unless it was checked in. Bloody hell, how pathetic, it's just come across the bloody Pacific, what's different. We have ten minutes to get a ticket and go back where one of us will have to go out through immigration and check the bag in
So we race up to the transfer desk, a lovely girl from LAN gets us on the direct flight at 1.50 that I'd thought was booked out (I'd checked in Santiago on the free internet they have there!!!!! Take note Aussie airports) and Al heads back through so we don't lose our $30 dollars of booze! It's all sorted and we spend the rest of the morning in the Qantas Club before heading down to fill the remainder of duty free allowance. Finally find Alec's 40th birthday present.
