New Years Eve!!! One of the reasons why we are here in Paris is finally here. We got up late and got a little more rest than expcted. We went out for lunch at a Korean BBQ restaurant. It was a hot pot city type of atmosphere where you had to cook your own food. To me sometimes this type of eating is not what I go to a restaurant for, cause I want the restaurant to cook for me. anyways, onto our preparation for new years eve.
After eating we had to get more supplies In the end we had 4 bottles of jack, lots of cok, champagne, champagn glasses and some bread to soak it all up. We eneded up spending some time at the hotel and we were then off to our meting spot at the Dupleix Metro Station. There we met up with Jamie and Lisa. Finally after a few minutes Antoinette and her boyfriend showed up. We were still waiting for the mexican crew of Refugio, Lourdes, and Armando. It was weird cause I live with Armando and he didn't tell me that he was going to be in Paris. So we ended up leaving without the mexicans cause they didn't show up and headed towards the park in front of the Eiffel Tower. As we approached it, it was like a ghost town, but when we got closer there were more people and festivities. We ended up setting up shop near the museum across the street. We ate some baguettes and starting drinking....This is where the craziness begins. I had the first few pretty quick and i was trying to pace myself with Homer. What I forgot was that Homer was almost twic my size. I knew this was going to be a fun and long night. After four or so drinks, I went to use the bathroom, which is wherever you want to relieve yourself - in paris. When I returned, another CSU classmate Tom showed up. At some other point in my drunken stupor, I turned around and some the trio of mexicans, Armando, Refugio, and Lourdes. It was great to be around so many of my friends in such a great city. I ended up taking two shots with Armando and at that point, I began to lose my memory. So it's hard to remember things. I'll summarize
Things I remember,
-Talking to Refugio of the miracle of languages.
-Getting emotional with all my friends and thanking them for being there.
-throwing up at a bench in the park
-Doing a numero uno at the fence
-Drew and John dropping me onto a bollard where I nearly lost the family jewels. For those of you who don't know what a bollard is, it is a metal vertical pole which prevents vehicles from entering an area. So yeah, it hurt bad.
- Getting launched onto a bed by Drew
Things I don't remember,
-Talking to Michelle about holding my drink cup and never coming back
- All the violence that was happening around us, allegedly there were a few riots and some dude got hit with a bottle and some middle eastern dudes were throwing firecrackers into crowds. While everyone was fearing their life, i thought i was at disneyland.
-Yelling at everyone
-Refusing to give up the Champagne bottle.
-Thowing up at the park
-Throwing up at the bridge
-who was with us on the walk home
-how did i get up the spiral staircase at the hotel.
-how many drinks i had.
In summary, I guess all i can say is that I was glad to spend such a special time with so many special peole in my life. It was a memorable experience, for wha ti remember. I wish i hadn't drank as much, but I guess it taught me a lesson. However, it's good that I drank that much around people i trust. Happy New Year!!!
