So now I have come to the end of my road. Travel is of such importance to me because it truly is an education. I have learned many things over the last year; some essential and some trivial. I have learned about people and places all over the globe. I have learned that some stereotype reign true and others are far off, you just have to be open enough to see the difference. I have learned that I'm not much of a city girl. I have learned that some of the best places are the ones you have never heard of. I have learned to flush the toilet every way imaginable, including balancing over footprints and washing away the mistakes with a bucket of water. I have seen how some people idolize America while others despise it. I have learn a wee bit about rugby and that following cricket is impossible. And most importantly, no matter what corner of the world you are in, Bob Marley is King!
Travel is not easy at times. I have spent 106 hours on airplanes, 253 hours on buses, 40 hours in cars (not including numerous hours in taxis), 24 hours on boats, and 32 hours on trains (not including subway time).
I didn't make it around to all the countries I had planned, but I still made it to 10 countries and every hemisphere. I have touched the following bodies of water: South Atlantic, Rio Plato, South Pacific(eastside), Rio Manso, Lake Titicaca, the North Sea, Loch Ness, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Atlantic(east and west), the South Pacific(westside), Lake Taupo, Lake Wakatipu, Lake Tekapo, the Tasman Sea, and more.
I purely wrote these memoirs for myself, but some of you read along the entire way out of your love for me or love for travel. Either way, I can not express how much it meant to know some of you were keeping up with me. The world is such a small place now and I never felt like I was far away. So thank you for caring.
