Analysé: Farming as a kind of art: Growing vegetables and fruits on an organic farm

Description: Growing vegetables and fruits on an organic farm involve a lot of time and different
steps. These steps are included between 50 to 60 days. The first and important
step is to think about what we exactly need before planting. It’s important to
know the number because we don’t want to much or not enough vegetables or
fruits. We have to know what people normally want at the market. After that, we
need a good soil to plant the seed, so we can use soil enriches by macadamia
nuts and compost. When this important step is done, we are ready to plant the
seeds! There are two ways to plant the seeds; we can either plant them in
little crates or directly in the garden. But we have to keep in mind that on a
big organic farm, we always need to save time, so planting some seeds in the
crates help a lot, because the plants can grow up a little bit. Even if this
step is saving time, it’s not saving effort; we have to transplant the small
shoots in the garden in some spots. It is important to put an organic
fertilizer of dropping of chicken and a special organic product that is very
expensive to avoid the weeds. This product is made of plants and flowers. When
the vegetables or fruits are big enough, it’s time to harvest! While people
harvest, the other persons weigh fruits and vegetables to bundle them together
or pack them in bags to sell at the market! This is how you can enjoy your
organic vegetables and fruits!

Constat/analyse: After long days of work at the farm, I learned so many things about all the important steps of farming. I amreally impressed by the fact that people here think about every single detail, even if everyone is always working hard during the day, they still try to work
one something else during the evening or make a list of things to do for the
day after. Now, after almost three weeks at the farm, I am more able to understand
why the work is so important for them: the number of employees is very small
for all the work to do; as a result if they want the survival of the organic
farm, they have to make double efforts. I am really happy to learn different
things about vegetables and fruits because I know that if later I have a small
garden I will know how to take care of it and I will be able to share my
knowledge with my parents to improve our garden at home.
