...on the train!

Yesterday (Sunday, July 13, 2008), we went to a castle not that far away from the house, about 30 minutes. We went with the friends of Ulla that you saw from the Schuetzen Fest. It was pretty but not as pretty as others that I have seen. We did not go in it because it has been turned in to a school for finance, so there is not much of the old castle left. We did walk the grounds and that was nice. Then we went to a small café and had coffee, tea and cakes, or in my case Cola Light. Then we had to come home because we had to be back at the Schuetzen Fest at 5 o'clock so that Jerry could shoot the bird! Yes, that's right, Jerry shot the bird. He got an honorary shot since he was from so far away. There was one other lady that got to shoot and she was from Australia. From there we came back home, Jerry and I played Wii with the boys and mom, Ulla, and Jana went to Jana's aunts house to get a grill. Till's birthday is Tuesday.

Today (Monday, July 14, 2008), we went to Cologne; this is my favorite city in Germany! It is the oldest city in Germany as well! The Colonge Dome is the oldest and largest and richest dome in Germany. It has survived bombings that is why it is so black. It only took them 600 years to build it! We also when on a bus tour while we were there but it was very hard to understand the man speaking because it was so loud, with that said that is why there is not going to be some descriptions with some of the pictures. The chocolate museum was not open today (bummer!), but I have been there before so it was not that bad that I couldn't go. I am not sure if mom and Jerry would have liked it so I guess that it was ok that it was closed. On the way home our train broke down so we had to wait on another train to come and get us. We ended up changing trains three times. It was not that bad, but the train that we rode the longest on was an old train and did not have any AC so it was a bit stuffy.

Tomorrow (or today depending on if you are in Germany or America) is Till's birthday! He will be 16 and able to drink beer! We will have a party for him in the back yard and all the family will come. I am not sure if his friends will come or not.

Wednesday night we will be leaving for Paris! I cant wait!

Good night for now!

*Note* If you missed it, there is a video of them shooting the bird down, it's up. It took almost two days to upload it, so I will not be uploading any more videos unless they are very special.
