There is a fiesta tonight at the local cathedral and street, celebrating the immaculate conception of Mary. If Dec 8 is immaculate conception, and life begins at birth, then Dec 8 is also Jesus' birthday.

"Who causes so much happiness ?" - This is what they shouted tonight, Dec 7th. It is Shouting Night , the eve of immaculate conception. The Cathedrals were packed. I made the tail-end of two masses and watched the kids line up at homes for candy (like Halloween) There are lots of statues of Mary everywhere tonight.
