2 weeks into camp, i have so much to say...going back to my last entry...

Our staff day off was pretty awesome. After breakfast we went shopping in Freeport where there are loads of shopping outlets; Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie and Fitch etc, bang goes my budget, lol. We then hit Old Orchid Beach soaking up the sun before having fresh lobster for dinner.

The campers arrive:
Friday night Missy and i stayed up till 2am making palm trees and decorations for our cabin theme: Hawaiian. In the morning we blitzed the cabin and after lunch the campers started to arrive. 5 out of our 8 campers arrived, im not allowed to say too much about them but they are all lovely girls with their highs and lows. im in for an interesting summer.

My schedule for each week consists of waking up by the bugle at 7:20am, line up is at 7:45 with the raising of the flag and breakfast is at 8am. Followed by cabin clean up and activities start at 9:40 and last for 50mins with 10 mins between each activity. Lunch is at 1pm followed by rest hour, then activities and Wekeela hour, dinner at 6pm and evening activities start at 7:30pm. My girls have lights out at 10:15pm so i have until 1am to relax and catch up with the other counsellors. I get 1 period off every day, 3 nights off a week and 1 full day, plenty of time to catch my breath. Im teaching piano, cheer and dance although i only have 1 girl for piano and not many kids for cheer. My schedule is being changed next week and im going to be teaching more dance and also helping out in the creative arts department which im looking forward to. We're also doing a production of the Sound of Music so im choreographing that and helping design and make the backdrop. I also have a walk on part as one of the nuns! Ive also organised a show 'Show Biz' for the campers so lots and lots to keep me occupied.

Evening activities on camp are always fun, we had a sandcastle building competition and i was buried in the sand and made into an angel, we had a carnival on Sunday and my bunk was in charge of the candy floss stall; i have an amazing talent at making candy floss by the way, lol. Next sunday we are having a bear hunt where all the counsellors dress up as different types of bear each worth points and the campers have to find us. the bunk with the most points wins, im very excited, i want to dress up as a care bear! hehe. We celebrated 4th July at camp on the 3rd and everyone sat on the beach and watched them go off over Little Bear Pond. Weve just finished a game of Capture the Flag and tomorow night we have an 80s disco.

Back to my staff days off... my day off is a wednesday and ive been lucky to have some amazing people with me. Last week it was a scorching hot day so we went tubing down the river, playing games and drinking beer (shhhh) lol. Yesterday we went to Portland and then watched the 4th July fireworks which were amazing. I also drove the other night which was exciting. I managed to get us all home in one piece.

So thats about it really. Many more exciting things are planned for the summer, shows, bunk nights and im going on the white water rafting trip next week. Camp Is Good!
