Bula everyone.
So, a quick overview of my 13 nights in beautiful Fiji ...

I arrived in Nadi (pronounced Nandi) on the 26th April and checked into Nomads Skylodge, an amazing backpackers if anyone is headed that way. Nadi itself itsn't that great and after hearing a few stories i decided not to venture outside of the hostel. But the skylodge is an excellent location if you are stopping over on the way out to the islands which i was so perfect for me!

The next 7 nights i was cruising through the 2 main group of islands north of the mainland on The Ultimate Lei. I cannot remember how to spell the names of these groups but if you look at a map of Fiji they start with a Y and a M, lol.
Anyway, my first 2 nights were spent on Tavewa, an ok island, the food was very basic, the staff friendly enough and lets just say it was a good thing the lighting around the showers and toilets was not very good and a good thing i have been to Thailand so ants crawling out of the toilet paper did not faze me too much. Night 3 was spent on the Wana Taki cruise boat, much nicer. Lots of activities and an awesome BBQ on the beach the following day. Onwards to Kuata, a really beautiful island with the resort set amongst the Fijian village. On our second night it was Fijian night and we were all part of the Kava ceremony, where we got to taste the Kava (i was not a big fan, it looks like dirty dishwater and tastes pretty similar to). The villagers also put on a performance of singing and dancing which was pretty awesome.
Our last night was spent on South Sea Island, an island so small you can walk around the whole of it it 5 mins or less. Possibly my favourite island because the sea was so clear, that means no seaweed, and i got to hold a starfish!
So, basically the past 6 days have been spent sunbaking on beautiful beaches and not much else really. This is such a hard life. :)
Back on mainland and another night at Nomads before i ventured down to Fiji's Coral Coast.

The Beachouse: After a couple of hours on a bus i was dropped outside the drive to The Beachouse, a backpackers hostel set right on the seafront. And ... is where Celebrity Love Island was filmed last year, how very exciting! The next four days were the best four days of my time in Fiji. I met some really lovely people at the beachouse and we all clicked straight away. It helped that we had everything you could want, a gorgeous pool surrounded by palm trees that led onto a beautiful beach. The staff were so friendly and we had breakfast and afternoon tea (freshly backed scones and jam, yum) everyday whilst being serenaded by one of the staff singing and playing the guitar.
On the Sunday the weather wasnt too great so we decided to visit the local village Church where we were warmly welcomed and then we spent the afternoon making coconut jewellry of which i am wearing now. I am very impressed, hehe.  My cousin also made it down to meet me and spent my last 2 nights with me at The Beachouse which was really nice. It was sad to leave Fiji and i can say thats all down to the people i met.

And well thats about it really. Lots of time relaxing on the beach and i have quite a nice tan now which im hoping to keep up when i get to Hawaii. xxxx
