After a slow start, we finally got on our way to visit the paternal side of our family in New York. Usually, we take the Mohawk Trail through Western Mass. into New York, but this time we took a different route through Mass., New Hampshire and now Vermont. Vermont is absolutely beautiful; as the name implies, it's very green with the trees, rolling hills and fields. The small towns that we've driven through are typical to New England: large Victorian and Colonial styles of farmhouses all dotted along the roads and then clustered around the town squares.
