The day started with Simon making a little side trip. Why? So he could collect his new glasses from the OPSM branch 80km down the road in Whyalla (it's a long story).
Still, it's amazing what you can see once you get the correct prescription...
While Simon took his early morning drive, Hilary, Alec and Carrie stayed at the hotel in Port Augusta to catch up on homework and restock fruit and vegetables.
But then, the morning's errands out of the way, it was back in the car and heading... north!
Coober Pedy, here we come!

What a marvellous adventure!
Great to hear from you all and see all of the silly pictures (and the not so silly ones too). I am a bit worried about one part of the latest blog though, the bit where Carrie makes Simon drive back to town to pick up his new glasses WEARING GLASSES THAT HAVE THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. I note that she did not send the kids with him, so life on the road (including all of that family time in the car) cannot be too bad! Keep up the good work with the bloggy thing. Looking forward to the next posting. Mxx
Re: What a marvellous adventure!
Glad you're following us. Actually, when I most recently had my eyes tested they told me that I no longer needed to wear glasses to drive (us myopics can rejoice in this one meagre benefit of middle age). However, as I've not had time to get my licence updated I was still OBLIGED to wear my old prescription. The law, Maya, is an ass (but I don't suppose I really need to tell you that!)
