Left Midland this afternoon (as the rain was falling and the sprinklers sprinkling) for a very hot Vegas - although it was not as hot as we had been expecting.

Flight great - only about 1 hour long - flew low over the Hoover Dam on the way in - amazing to see from the air. Was looking across a vast Navada Desert when suddenly Vegas appeared and as we got closer the various theme hotels could be clearly identified.

Went directly to our hotel - The Flamingo - which had a great location right in the middle of the strip. Strolled around for the evening - fascinating sights & sounds, all types of people hanging around. Played a few slots before bed and won enough to cover my gambling for the rest of the week. Would have come here sooner if I had known that winning their cash was so easy !!!
