Arriving back in Nairobi to the camp we had left from 2 weeks ago was very strange...so much has happened in the 2 weeks, it was also lovely to have a group to hang around with and not be wondering who we were going to be travelling with. We lost a few of our group but have gained a few more and are now 27 people :)

Myself, Niamh, Jay and Brad decided to go to the Karen Blixon, 'Out of Africa' museum for the day. The area that our camp and the museum are in is called Karen after her. The house was really beautiful and we got a great tour around it but couldnt take pictures inside :( The guide told us all about her marriage and 'boyfriend' finchatton and her failed coffee plantations. What she is really remembered in the area for is setting up a school for local children and how good she was to her workers. We could also see the ngong (pronounced gong) hills in the distance from the opening line, 'I had a farm in Africa at the foot of the Ngong hills'...I was delighted to find out how its pronounced and also that it means knuckles cause they kind of look like knuckles in the distance. The gardens around the house are absolutely beautiful and you could easily send hours there. The house that the film was made in is now privately owned so you cant visit it.

Afterwards we went to the karen blilxon coffee shop which used to be her office and had an amazing pizza in a beautiful shady garden...it truely is a tough life!

We spent the afternoon in a really nice shopping centre drinking coffee and window shopping.

Next stop is tanzania again...we head to Arusha and from there to the ngorogoro crater and serengeti, absolutely cannot wait :)
