We have moved to a very nice "Penzion" aka hotel, in the mountains north of Kosice. Today we went to Spissca Nova Ves and looked around there as a possibility, it is very nice and I think this region is worth looking into. In the afternoon we went to visit Spissca castle which was a LONG walk up a very steep hill! It was a beautiful view and an interesting ruins to visit. Only two things negative happened: Esther tried to "scale the castle walls" and took a fall (She's okay, dont panic, just some scrapes!) And then we missed the last bus back to Spissca so we had to take a bus somewhere else and then a train and it was just a mess! We didnt get back untill after 8pm and it was already dark. Our hotel is up an unlit trail up the mountain so it was interesting but we got back fine - in fact we got to see some beautiful stars!
There is a picture below of the food we ate here the first night we came (wednesday). they cooked a traditional slovakian meal! It was very interesting and consisted of a chicken broth-like soup, followed by a stewed pork and cabbage "stuff" with some steamed bread and then desert was a very impressive array of fruit!
