I woke up today and thought the weather was shit cos it was so dark in my room, but when I pulled back the curtains I was raped by bright sunshine and a huge wave of heat. The window frame was actually too hot to touch; nice day! I stood at the window for a bit and watched many planes take off and land at the airport which isn't too far away from the hotel, it's cool how sometimes the planes do parallel landings right in line with each other.

I knew exactly what I was gonna do today, this has been the case in all of cities I've visited so far, I'll go explore on the first day and see what's where and get to know the street names, then I'll find some place that has most of the things I'll need, then go there everyday and do the same thing! I headed straight for the Arizona centre and chilled in the Gardens for an hour and a half, it's so nice there you can spend hours there and not realise; it has nice fountains and desert trees, and little birds that walk around pecking the gravel looking for food. I then went to Starbucks for a Caramel Frappucino obviously, they asked for my name to put on the cup even though I was like the only one in there. . .amusing. I then went back into the gardens, I got punched in the face by the heat as I opened the door to go outside.

My next stop was Subway, to have some lunch. Things like Subway and Starbucks are slightly cheaper here when you convert the currencies; same for clothes. I then went back outside and got some bottled water from a vending machine, it took me ages to figure out how it works, the water was cheap as well, only $1.25! which is like 80p or something. I suppose it's Arizona though where bottled water is pretty much a necessity so it sort of has to be buyable; that's my thought anyway!. I was crossing the street and a homeless man asked me for 10 cents, unluckily I had no coins on me, after hearing me speak he asked when I was from; it's strange how people's perceptions of my accent are totally different now I'm in a different country; i'm a foreigner here, ooooooO!.

The Bells at the church across the street from the Arizona Center were chiming for 14:00, it's quite interesting as they play a little melody, and then play it again in a minor key, and then for 5mins or so afterwards they play a whole hymn! It sounds amazing as it echos through the calm Sunday afternoon streets.

Later on in the evening I went to Hooters again, and had the same thing to eat (ROUTINE), this time I had a caramel fudge cheesecake for dessert though. I also purchased a Hooters T-Shirt, the girl serving me asked where I was from as she was sorting the shirt out, I explained where I'm from and what I'm doing here and before I knew it I had 3 more of them asking me stuff!

When I left to go home, I got a ride from one of those Bicycle taxi things that we have back in Cambridge, the guy driving, or riding rather, was from Cleveland and was excited that I was from England. I got all the questions again on the way home, and he told me that in Arizona it rains about 6 times a year, but when it rains IT RAINS. When at the hotel he wished me well on my journey.

I watched some more TV, this time I found a show called Time Warp, it's literally just about watching interesting things on slow motion cameras that can capture up to millions of frames a second. They asked a guitar player to play an Octave (those musical people will know what I'm on about!), and when played back in slow motion you can actually see the higher of the two notes vibrating up and down exatly twice to that of the lower note. . .I was actually amazed by this; am I a freak. Apart from this basically every single other show on TV here is about crimes, murder mysteries and detective stuff. . .not bad!

SLEEP.
