Today, together with a million school children, I saw the Osaka castle, I have never heard so many mangled hello and goodbyes, I guess they don't see many foreigners. There has been a castle at the site for almost 1000 years. The current one was build by the Togugam Shogunate in 1620-1629. Different lords were responsible for building different parts of the castle; their seals can still be found on the walls.
The weather has been great today; it must have been at least 25 degrees when the sun was out. The humidity is very high as well though, which makes it really sweaty.
I must admit that this is one of the most difficult things I have ever done
Also I don't think I have ever had the felling of not belonging as I have here, I feel like a hillbilly in town for the first time. There are so many people, so much noise, the buildings are much larger than I'm used to, the stores all advertise stuff using scantly clad girls and I don't understand anything anybody is saying. Welcome culture shock.
To top it all of, I am afraid something is wrong with my Visa card. I haven't been able to get money out since I used it in the airport, so I'll have to call my bank when I'm done here to have it sorted out. Well no time as the present.
See you tomorrow.
