How ya going?
What a fabulous, vibrant, full of life city! I could live in Sydney.. I've said good bye to Nemo and Dori and the Sydney harbour. The family we stayed with showed us such hospitality. There is a special energy here and I would love to return. There are also drink names that are rather interesting here and can't really be repeated here tell ya later... We did a lot while we were here. Australia won the rugby game last night against NZ Wallabies and of course we were at a pub with the typical yellow curly wigs on our heads cheering them on. The beaches in Sydney are breathtaking... we went to Manley beach, Darling harbour, the Rocks which was the first settled area in Sydney.. According to Bill Bryson... a great travel book for Oz by the way, the already settled convicts living here were selling the newly arriving prisoners maps to China having them believe they could escape quite easily from the harsh prison life and weather .. Many of them fried in the heat of the outback on their way... : )
I'm in Adelaide now... and we're not in Kansas anymore....! Adelaide is a country town of 1 million but I can't quite figure out where they all are... The streets are empty. Today an australian hearded sheep for us.. his dingo named Hank actually did the hearding... all around us! it was an experience...! if you can imagine 200+ sheep running toward you...
I have learned several more Auzzie sayings... I will be speaking Auzzie when I return...
Take care..
Sending sunshine to everyone... and hoping all is well .. Snow falling yet?
