Today I spent my afternoon strolling around the Military Museum and a park directly north named Yuyuantan. I've always wanted to visit the Military Museum primarily because it was free and that's a big thumbs up from me on visiting cool places. We spent about 10 minutes in the museum because it was free and we could always come back whenever we wanted. However the day's main attraction was the park which apparently was in full bloom with cherry blossoms. We arrived at the park and found that half the lake was drained for possible renovation. The result was having everyone else cram around a smaller area of the park to enjoy the green and water. Just imagine the boats on the water with the Chinese driving habit, it's a recipe for fun! We left after an hour after realizing most Beijing parks would be the same, overcrowded and lacking in natural beauty.
