me and Ben arrived back in Beijing for the arrival of the Becky's. we spent some time time looking round the places we knew. everything is very deserted at the moment because of the spring festival everyone has left the big cities and gone home to be with their families. this means that hardly anything is open but its still really good to be here. the streets are decorated with lanterns which looks really nice.

the water here is frozen solid so thick you can walk on it despite the weather being quite warm. the lake has turned into an ice rink where you can rent skates or chairs. we got the chair and spent some time on the ice! it was really good as neither of us has ever seen ice like that that you can walk on at home.

yesterday we went to the airport to pick the beckys up but they arrived today so that was an annoying day but today we went and picked them up from the airport. they are having a lil sleepy now as they are pretty jet lagged!
