the tale of the craziest funeral we have ever seen.
me and Ben hear the familiar sound of the funeral band outside of our house. its really surprising how many funerals we have outside our building, talking to other people, we are the only ones to experience these mental events.
usually the funeral will consist of a band playing v. loud music a bit out of tune for a few hours starting usually at 5:00am and people walking round the building with the band, some of the crying some waving incense, that sort of thing, we have even seen a truck carrying 16 cannons which they kept firring. but this one today went above and beyond anything we could have imagined a funeral to be.
its started with the band and the people walking around the building then a bit later we heard the band again so i looked out of the window and there was red squares placed in a circle with a big one in the middle, each of the squares had a picture done in rice on it and there was some kind of priest type man leading the mourners around in a weaving in and out kind of pattern around the rice pictures, this went on for about 20 mins i think. then they did a crazy fast weaving n and out thing this time with stools instead of the rice pictures. then they got all this furniture made from a bamboo frame and paper out and lined it up on the grass, then they started to build a house. this House then had a bed put into it.. a little weird but maybe the person died in the bedroom so they wanted to do something with that but no. they then continued to build a kitchen, compete with a rice cooker and oven, a bathroom and all the other ground floor rooms, then just as we thought they couldn't add anything else, they raised the whole thing up and built a bottom to the house which had more rooms and furniture, they even put an air conditioner on the outside!
then they put up some lanterns and a wall and a front porch. then they started adding paper money and origami old fashioned money. now they usually do this when they burn things for the dead person, but we thought that surly they couldn't burn this massive sculpture, which they had placed outside our house in the road. but sure enough, they gave out sweets and cakes to the by standers which by this time, was allot of people, then they set fire to the whole thing!

then everyone went back inside.
so random, i have no idea who died but they must have been pretty special.
