Where I stayed
jane's guest house, leaping tiger gorge.
We got to the leaping tiger gorge via a short bus trip from shangri-la and stayed at Jane's guest house. The gorge is high in the mountains. The name comes from the story that a tiger leapt the entire width of the gorge to get away from its pursuer. It is quite a tourist attraction so the path is well trodden. But it was a very beautiful place.
We walked some of the way but the heat was intense and we had to turn back but we had a good 6 hour walk. The scenery was amazing and being so high up was a new experience for me.
Jane's guest house was a nice place to stay but Jane is a crafty one. We were at dinner with the people we met there and every time we asked for something, she told us we wouldn't like it, but we would like the most expensive thing.
As our visas are running out, we decided to go the next morning to Dali, on the bus for 5 hours.
