I have had a great past two weeks. Despite being really busy with work, everything is coming together. At work I have been staying busy in meetings and planning for the new school. I now spend my Friday afternoons at the new school testing new students or getting things organized ans set up for next year. It is exciting to be doing some hands on planning but it is still a little overwhelming because we have so much to finish before classes start on July 5th too! Yikes! It will get done though. This past week I was working my butt off getting ready because I will be gone next week. I worked 9-7 everyday and ended up bringing work home too but it has all gotten done. I just have my student comments to write for their grades. I was so exhausted by the time Friday arrived.

Despite last weekend being my only free weekend before I come home it ended up being a busy one. I went out to Dakeng Hiking Trails, finally! There are 12 hiking trails just outside of Taichung. It is a popular activity on the weekend. Katie, my roommate, and I tackled trail one. It was pretty intense. The whole trail is made of just wooden logs, not flat either. At the parts of the trail where you are going up it was like you were climbing a ladder. Going up the trail was pretty intense and coming back down the trail was just as much of a challenge. We had a good time. It is always nice to get out of the city and breathe some fresh air.

This last weekend a group of teachers all went camping in Puli, a 1 hour bus ride away. We didn't really know was to expect but it ended up being awesome! We were camping on a mountain overlooking the city below. We organized the trip through a guy that does tandem paragliding so we took advantage of that as well. There were 4 of us that went up paragliding. It was so cool. I would love to do it again. I went up fro a 20 minute ride. The views were amazing. Puli is surrounded by mountains on all sides so it is like a big bowl. So in each direction that you looked the views were breathtaking. After we finished up paragliding for the day we got the BBQ going and cooked up some good food. At night was had some drinks and enjoyed a bonfire. It was a perfect evening. It reminded me of being back home and sitting around a fire on nice summer nights. We had a great time! I am really going to miss this group of teachers! (most are leaving this summer). On Sunday we woke up just in time to get things packed up before the torrential downpours started. It was a perfect weekend!

Now this week I only have one day of work and then it is off to the Philippines for 6 days. Our flight is at 1:30AM Tuesday morning so we have to catch a bus on Monday night after work. We don't have too much planned. We have a couple tours that we would like to do but it will be mostly just relaxing. I will be sure to post pics as soon as I can after I return! It is crazy to think that it is going to be June already when I come back! Where did May disappear to?

Well that's all for now.....Until next time....love ya and miss ya!!

40 days until I come home!! :)

P.S. Hi Brent and Joel! Hope you enjoyed my new blog ;)
