I have been getting behind on updating everyone on what is happening here. Things have continued to be really busy for me and I don't think they will be slowing down anytime soon. Everything has been going well for me. The weather is officially hot already. We were in the 80's all weekend. I miss my mild seasons in between the hot summer and cold winter.

Over Easter weekend we had a long weekend, but not because of Easter. It was Tomb Sweeping Day on Monday so we had the day off. I also took Friday off and made it a 4 day weekend. It was a great break from work. I went up to Taipei with 4 other Cornel teachers. I haven't been able to do much of the sightseeing in Taipei so we spent the day on Friday checking out the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, the Longshan Temple (a very old temple), and the Ximen markets. The weather was kind of rainy and cold but it was still nice to see some of the sights. On Saturday we took a nice day trip to go to Bei Tou for some hot springs. This was a small town just outside of Taipei. While here we walked through Thermal Valley. This was an area where the water is so hot that it boils and the hot water creates lots of steam in the air. We then found ourselves some hot springs to enjoy. They have public hot springs that cost about $1.50 to get into. They have 5-6 pools of water that are all different temperatures ranging from super hot to super cold. You are supposed to go right from the hot ones into the cold ones and then back to the hot ones. The hot springs were pretty crowded so we only stayed for about 1 hr. On Easter Sunday it was pretty rainy and crappy out so we went to a movie and relaxed the rest of the day. We did have an Easter Egg hunt in our hotel room. We picked up 5 chocolate eggs and they were hidden around the room. We each took a turn looking for the eggs. It was nice to sort of be in the Easter spirit while so far from family.

It was a great weekend spent with great friends. We had a lot of laughs and ate lots of great food! It is always refreshing to get outside of Taichung and be able to try new restaurants and new food!

As far as work goes, things have been picking up with getting ready for the new school to open. I have been having lots and lots of meetings. We have been picking out new curriculum and starting to plan out the program. We also had our second open house this weekend. It went well but we are still in need of lots of students to sign up!! It will be interesting to see what our numbers are at the start of the year.

Thats about it for now! I will keep you updated on the happenings here! Until next time.....love ya and miss ya!
