Coming back to Amman from Dubai was another transition.  But now that I'm back in the swing of things life is good and I'm loving my time here once again.  The men in Amman are something to get used to.

Other things to get used to here are rising prices.  I think I've talked extensively on this subject in my past blogs but it just keeps getting worse.  Before the war with Iraq, half of all oil from Iraq to Jordan was free and the other half was 50% off (a good friend told me this statistic)....As you can see, Saddam was good to Jordan and so a lot of people miss him here.  But because of the rising oil prices, the prices for bread, electricity, heating, fruits, veggies, taxi cabs, etc. etc. etc. have all gone up as well (this has also been due to a cutback in subsidies).  My friend and I were talking about this subject and he can't figure out why people aren't protesting because in past times they did.  Who knows......I had one theory that they don't feel right protesting about rising prices when their brothers and sisters are dying in Palestine, but I really don't know.

On to more happy things, I went to the Dead Sea again last weekend with some of my friends to Motaz's family's house.  Oh my goodness is the house gorgeous!...and the pool was so relaxing! (see pictures)  We hung out there all day and night and I had a very good time.

Other than that I have been going to school, studying (my last midterm was Tuesday), and just hanging out.  What else....I absolutely love my roommates I have come to realize : )  It's funny because we're all very different but I think that's why we mesh so well together.  Jessica is from the south but goes to school at Macalester...she's a very chill person and a homebody and never creates any trouble.  Kelly is from California and goes to Berkley...she hates southern Cali and makes sure everybody knows she lives in the north (I don't blame her).  They're great and we've become a very happy family : )
