My friend Mohammad came to Amman this week from Ramullah (located in Palestine). I met him in DC awhile back and we have always kept in touch.  It was so nice to see him! My first familiar face since I got here about a month and a half ago.  We got together Tuesday night and met up with some of his friends and his cousin Ferras who I have also met a time before.  It was a really good night, nice to reconnect and nice to meet new people.  The next day I met up with him after class and we went out for lunch and then shisha with his friend Shukri I had met the night before, then we just hung out, and then we went out for dinner....there were a lot of great conversations about politics and economics as usual and we ate a lot of good food, as usual!

Wednesday I also went to the post office, which was an experience.  First off my taxi cab driver decided to tell me a dirty joke and it went something like this:  There was a married couple sitting in their house and the guy started to get horny so he asked his wife if she would have sex with him.  She said, no "I have blood." (she was on her period)  He was disappointed so she said here's 20 dollars, go and find yourself somebody.  So he left the house and came back 5 minutes later (yea, 5 minutes).  She said, jeez that was fast, who did you find?!  He said, our neighbor next door.  She said, what!?  The married woman next door?  And did she take the money?  He said, yes, yes.  She asked again, the whole 20 dollars?  He said, yes.  She replied, $*#~& I sleep with her husband for free! Haha.....it was interesting........I don't really know why he wanted to tell me the joke, he was old and told me about his kids and everything and then just busted out this joke!

Anyways, post office:  I first went to the front desk on the first floor and the lady there told me to go upstairs.  So I wandered around for awhile trying to find the stairs and finally found them.  On the second floor I walked to the front desk and gave the guy there my slip to pick up my package, after that I had to go to another guy, after that another guy who looked through everything in the package, then after that another guy, then after that another guy, then after all of that I had to go back to the first guy, then back to the second guy, then back to the third guy, and then finalllllly I was done with the whole process after half an hour and 10 million signatures!!!  It wasn't even busy there either!  Also my package took like a month to get here when it was supposed to take about a week.  So much for speedy post office service in Jordan!

That's all for now...will upload pictures later!
