Where I stayed
After breakfast we took buses to our private boat. The boat was very cool – it had two floors with indoor and outdoor sections, and the back of the boat was made for diving. We cruised about an hour and a half out to the reef where we met a semi-submersible vessel with underwater reef viewing. From there we took about a thirty-minute underwater tour of the reef. It was really incredible to see all of the life under water. Although it was an incredible view, I was happy to leave the semi-submersible because it made me feel a little claustrophobic.
Afterwards, we went back to our boat and docked at a mid ocean pontoon which was our dive site
The boat ride home was beautiful – I loved looking at the coast and even saw another rainbow! I became very exhausted on the boat though. I actually think that semi-submersible wore me out. I slept most of the way back to dock. After docking we walked around Port Douglas for a bit and then headed back to the hotel. Everyone was given money to spend on a dinner restaurant of our choosing so we had made reservations with some friends we met on the trip. I fell asleep when we got back to the room and missed dinner, but Dad went and had a good time. I must have really needed the sleep. We head back in the sky tomorrow – Cambodia here we come!
