So last night I tried to stay awake but ended up passing out at 6:30pm because I was beyond tired at that point and I slept till almost 7 this morning!!  I then went to Pret a Manger to grab a quick breaky and then headed to Westminster to do some sightseeing that I surprisingly didn't do when I was living in England!

The first thing I saw when I got out of the tube station was the London Eye!  I was tempted to go on it but the line was super long and I could think of better ways of spending 20!  Across the river were the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben!  Then I decided to go for a walk and find Buckingham Palace!  On the way, I walked up Westminster Abbey and stumbled across St Margaret's Church!  It was absolutely stunning and HUGE and there were tons of little memorial crosses all over the grounds.  This is where Prince William and Kate will be getting married next April!  I kept walking and eventually found the palace and stopped to take some pictures.  Then, I checked out one of the royal parks, Green Park.  It had the "Canada Gate" and the "Canada Memorial", which was a tribute to the 100 000+ Canadian soldiers who were killed in the world wars.

By this time, it was only noon!  The day sure feels long when you wake up early in the morning!  I'm so not used to that!!  I then decided to head back to Oxford St to kill some time since I've pretty much done everything I wanted to do in London (besides shopping more!).  Plus I just love walking down that street!  I had subway for lunch and then bought a new purse and a couple of sweaters!  I was trying not to buy anything from London before my tour but I couldn't resist!

Then, I headed back to my hotel, only to find out that the tube station by my hotel was shutdown because they were having problems with the lifts so I got off at the next station and hoped I was walking in the right direction since I had no clue where I was!  I made it back though and sat in the little pizza place in my hotel, drinking tea for a while and chatting with friends and family from home!

I ended up having a roommate for the night.  Her name was Cara and she was an Australian who just returned from the Winter Wanderer so we chatted for a bit and she told me what her favourite parts of the tour were and warned me about pick-pocketers in Paris and Italy :P  We were both super tired though so we ended up going to bed at around 10:30.
