Ashley: Another early start, breakfast and on the truck for 10 minutes to the start of the walk. Jen is not able to walk as the blood blister is hurting too much. I have to write for the next two days. I take a water bottle and the camera in the adidas bag. We were walking up the foot of Kilimanjaro. The grass was very green compared to the rest of the country.
The first place we stopped was a library and computer room for the community that was set up by an English lady back in 1994. The next stop was a primary school that 283 children went to. It had a world map and maps of Africa. Another stop was a school for woodwork and sewing. Only 25 students at the moment.
We walked across the hill to a beautiful waterfall and two of the group (Tom and Willy) went for a swim. Our last stop was lunch at a house in the village. The food was similar to the first walk but a very nice meal. They also had a cow and a bull calf and two goats around behind the house. I thought the walk was good but steep in places. We walked back to the truck by 2pm and off to Lushoto.
