The drive into Oyster Bay from our Queens home was about 30 minutes. After getting off the LIE and onto the 106 it was evident that the town of Oyster Bay/Bayville was popular among locals (and tourists I bet) for it's seafood. When we got to the Pine Island Grill, I felt a little (ok a lot) under dressed. It wasn't because the other restaurant visitors were dressed more formal, because they weren't. It just has to do with this restaurant being so beautiiiiiiful that I would have liked to put a little more effort in my own presentation.
Our outdoor dining experience was amazing! I view of the sunset across the Atlantic is by far one of my most memorable experiences on Long Island. And the food was delicious and affordable (compared to NYC standards.) Ray and I ordered a dozen baked clams for appetizers - they were good, can't say they were the best I've had. For the main course, I had bronzini while Ray gobbled down his Chilean sea bass. His parents enjoyed a salmon and lamb dinner. As usual, we were too stuffed for desert.
Will I go back here? Absolutely! The view itself is worth the trip. I highly recommend it for special occasions.
