Ruaha NP, TZ's second largest park, was incredibly dry. There were pockets of pools within the main Ruaha river bed where we expected to see quite a few animals but the numbers of animals were not that great. We were really lucky to have found the lions - they were a few metres away from one of the picnic sites and tucked away in the shade.
