OK Now this is more like it and I have taken a million photos..................sooooo loved it here.
It's 15 km dirt road inland from Minnipa, there are many sites  right around the rock to camp 2 have toilets and BBQ and table and bins,

Never heard if this place it's like wave rock but smaller and no less impressive, we climbed it a few times, the views were just magnificent with the Gawler Ranges as a back drop.

We camped right under it and was in awe of the weathering effect of the rock all around with different wave profiles and on top there were holes, valleys,  indents, someone even dammed one area for we assumed a swimming hole. This place would be sensational to see after rain when all the pools are full and flowing over the edge of the rock....This is a highlight of our trip so far.....thanks to Jo & Derek telling us about it.

It's made up of pretty pink granite and the weathering is beautiful to behold.

There are more granite outcrops around these areas too which we'll definately catch next time too.

We've passed the halfway point across Australia at KIMBA SA so we were told. Got a pic of their BIG thing a Gallah!

Ash and Wendy your photos of Pildappa Rock are stunning. They brought more than a tear to my eyes and it has made us feel homesick for more travel.

When we first came across Pildappa Rock, we felt like we had discovered it and didn't want anybody else to go there. It is one of Australia's hidden treasures and yes it would look even more beautiful in a big wet!!!

Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely spot you are at. When we get the chance to travel that way it will be a must stop on our journey as well.
