Sorry for the delay, after a big day on Sunday scooting down I-75 and the Florida Turnpike with a lengthy run of 370 miles we have been relaxing with Gary & Todd, and Jay.

Gary & Todd our hosts in this area are homeless waifs at present until they decide their next lifes adventure.  So good friend Jay Bailyn has allowed them, and us to share his loft apartment temporarily.  Great spot right next to downtown Delray and about 300 metres from the esplanade overlooking the beach.  Bit like Manly Corso and front with fancy retaurants, but the shops are rather classy, and the streets are full of Mercs, BM's Lexus, Audi etc. Guess Manly is a bit like that too.

So we have eaten out a few times, been shopping quite a bit, driven around taking in the sites.  Gary had to go Miami one day so we went along for the ride.  Had a great lunch that day at a famous place called Smith & Wolensky right on the sea channel from the harbour.  Quite a number of small boats, US coastguards, pilot boats and things going in and out, but no cruise ships we had hoped for.

We walked from there along the breakwater to the channel end of Miami's South Beach which was packed.  We then drove around to Ocean Drive which runs along the back of Sth Beach and is crammed with restaurants and 40's Art Deco buildings, where all the beautiful people sit at sidewalk tables to be SEEN.  This was where we had our adventure with a real Miami vice event and arrest of a petty criminal in 2006, but thats another story.

Part way along is Gianni Versace's house which is now a boutique hotel, looks like an Italianate Chateau, HUGE.  He was shot by an idiot for no reason on the front steps.

Should perhaps mention that we celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary yesterday the 19th
and I got out of jail with a bunch of red roses!!

We are now facing the chore of selling the bike which is not proving easy!!  Have ad's on Ebay, Craigs list, and Autotrader but not enough is happening, have had a couple of opportunist offers ridiculously low and another which was nearly there but still not enough.  Now talking to a local bike shop about consignment but they are lowballing me a bit too.  So looks like we are going to have to bite the bullet and agree that the trip is going to cost a little more than we hoped, but there you go, we can't take it with us and this lifes journey ain't a rehearsal so live it eh?

Perhaps that's the right attitude, don't think we have to many options right now but to take that one.

Meanwhile we are resting up in this gorgeous apartment, in a fabulous location waiting to catch a plane to London on the 30th August, can't be all bad can it?
