News has been a bit scarce last couple of days.  Computer developed a serious illness and needed a doctor.  Found a great guy in Vicksburg but he had other things on his mind, like becomng a grandfather for the first time!!  Left it with him yesterday morning, but his afternoon was spent at a maternity ward so caught up this morning still with work to do as I did not give him the connecting leads for the remote disc drive!!

So yesterday morning we became experts on Gen Grants Civil War defeat of Vicksburg and the Confederate Army which put the Mississippi in Northern control and virtually won them the war.  The North used gunboats on the river and one was sunk in the Yazoo River which runs past the city.  It and hundreds of artefacts were recovered from the river in the 60's and is now a display and museum, see picture.  It was probably the first navel vessall sunk by a mine remotely detonated.  Took only 12 minutes to sink but all on her survived.

Bought a new cell phone 2 days ago and promptly lost the charger, really annoyed about that all yesterday and today as easy as anything got a replacemnet charger from service station which works off the power socket on the bike and will not be lost again.

Couldn't get away from Vicksburg until noon so short day today, about 140 niles, we decided that the Super Eight at Hattiesburg was just too tempting.

Salad burger and fries for dinner in our room and hope to make Destin Beach Florida tomorrow where the co-pilot tells me she wants a "proper" meal.
