Hi again
Today we ventured onto the highways and byways, well city 4-6 lanes and Interstate 6-8 lanes which pass for local roads around here.  Flamimgo Rd East which takes you to 515/93/95 south which goes somewhere near Lake Mead Boulavard and into the Lake Mead National Park which for us on the bike was a $5 entry fee.  Still basically the Mojave Desert all around us but the Colorado River, of Grand Canyon fame runs through the middle of it about 30 miles east of Vegas.  With Mr Hoover giving his name to a bloody great big concrete wall across the river they hold back enough water to hydrate most of Nevada, Arizona and southern California, big lake!!  It was 97 on the bike readout on the way out there and 104 near the lake.  We went on through to a small town Boulder City, very neat and had lunch in a small diner, typically American small town with seats up at the counter and the usual tables and chairs.  Finally found a Post Office so there are some post cards on their way.
