Whew, we made it home! The Long Hauler ceremony was this morning in Madison and we left right after, getting here about 1:30. Again, we brought the sunshine. Apparently it was stormy and cloudy all week here. Glad to be home after 9 days on the road (except for the big pile of laundry waiting for me).
What a great time we had. The Power Tour is summer camp for hot rodders. You meet such cool people and really do make new friends. We had an awesome time promoting Cherry Bomb this year; those are good folks all around.
I gotta tell you, the Power Tour starts on June 6 next year and you'd be a fool to pass it up AGAIN (you know who you are). Even if your hot rod isn't done, bring the family truckster and ride along for all the fun (you'd probably have a more comfy ride anyway). A lot of guys come alone and hook up with new friends along the way. Again, there were a lot of families with these cool station wagons cruisin along like when we were kids in the pre-80s era when everyone did that for their summer vacation. Keep checking www.hotrod.com for info on next year's route. From what I understand, they are going to start in Madison or Racine, Wi.
Thanks to everyone who's checked in with us this week and kinda 'rode along'. We'll be making a full length dvd again from this year. I should have it on our website in August.
Check back here around Labor day when we travel down to St. Louis, MO for the Super Car Reunion at Gateway!
See ya on the road or on the dragstrip!
