Karijini National Park
We had a ball at Karijini. We had to stay in the overflow for one night then went into the Dales Campground. The campground hosts were great. All the kids got jnr Ranger tests to get there Jnr Ranger Patch. We went on a walk in the Dales Gorge to get to the Circular Pool which looked fabulous with water trickles falling through the growth on the rocks and into the pool. The pool was cold but the trickles were hot. We all stood under them to have a warm shower. Next we walked on to the Fortscure Falls. On the way we saw a King Brown Snake but were careful to avoid it safely. The falls flowed down steps made in the rock. It looked fantastic. We also moved onto the Fern Pool. A sacred Aboriginal Place. So we had to climb down a ladder to get in. It was beautiful. The next day we went to Hankock Gorege. We had to climb down a ladder and spider walk between two narrow walls to get through to Kermit Pool. It was great. Dad and Pete ventured on the Regans Pool, (A class six walk). We had lunch then went off to the Handrail Pool. It was called that because you had to hold on to a Handrail down a waterfall to get down. It is a large round pool which is enclosed but high cliffs. We went on by swimming to the next pool. It was lots of fun. When we got back we went to the Camp Hosts to get our Jnr Ranger Patch and hand in our tests. I am happy to say we all became Karijini National Park Junior Rangers! We also went to Knox George and Joffe Falls the next day.
