1. Riding bicylces amongst Old Historical Sukhthai and ruins: It been a while since we've both ridden bicylces, but this was a great way to get reaquainted. It was prefect to bike between the various wats as the Historical town is closed off to most traffic. We had fun goofing off in the quiet streets.
2. The large Buddha at Wat Si Chum: Playing peekaboo through an opening of a wall that was built later on, this Buddha offered plenty of photo opportunies for both of us. So far it was the largest Buddha we saw in the sitting position.
3. Returning bikes just before another torential down pour: What perfect timing we had to bike back to the bike rental shop just before the storm. We took pity on the other foreigners that were cycling in the opposite direction as they looked as if they were just beginning their tour.
4. The ruins of Si- Satchanalai: More nice ruins of wats, but not as restored as in Sukhthai
5. Ruean Thai Hotel and Thai massage: Great food, courteous staff, and a swimming pool. We had a first Thai massage here, and honestly it suffered in comparison to the streetside massage in Chiang Mai. Our bodies were steteched, pulled, twisted, and partially lifted off the bed, not the most relaxing massage, but a good one.
Javier`s two cents: I suspect the masseuses of being escaped sadist convicts out to cause internal bleeding on the unsuspecting.
