Javier happens to have relatives from the English side of the family in Bowral so we hoofed it to this charming town for day and a night. Peter, Sue and Georgina turned out to be wonderful and energetic hosts. Here are the highlights:
1. Morton National Park: Peter took us on a great hike down to rather dramatic and lush park, completely unlike the mental picture we had set for Australia. We had, of course, pictured red clay, kangaroos underfoot and perhaps a motley crew of vehicular barbarians looking for gasoline (Mad Max reference, sorry).
2. Bowral itself: lovely town, nice Sunday market, a good cup of coffee, wild possums walking on the roof at night. Charming.
3. A superb Thai dinner with enchanting and newly discovered relatives. A treat.
