Just got back from an Irish pub called "Scholars" in Rome. We watched the Eagles game -- so close yet so far. They lost ANOTHER NFC Championship game. Oh well.
The rest of the day was great. We started by going to Todi, a small hill-town about two hours from Rome (in Umbria). There, in addition to seeing a really cool town and beautiful church, we met a local -- his name was Sergio. This guy was AWESOME!! He knew everything about the city's history and gave us a nice tour. Apparently, he "happened" upon an old Etruscan temple under his house several years back. He says he took waht he found and sold it at his antique shop (which he let us check out).
Overall, Todi was a great experience! Next, we went to Titignano. There, we had a 10-course lunch with LOTS of delicious wine. The food just wouldn't stop coming! Haha.
Anyways, I have to wake up at 6:00am to go to shul tomorrow.
It's so late. First day of class starts now!!
Later,
Ari
