We're less than 48 hours away from boarding a plane to Wellington, New Zealand, where we're going to live. Things are, thankfully, coming together: some sizeable chunk of our belongings were loaded onto the back of a truck a few days ago, with vague promises that we'll see them again in a couple of months and on the other side of an ocean.

Even more happily for our immediate needs, we've arranged a place to stay for our first month or so. Wanting short-term accomodation at first so we can perform a proper search for a more permanent rental, we were having little luck finding anything better than a hotel.

Swooping in at the last minute was a house in Aro Valley, the owner of which will be spending [most of] the time away. Aro Valley sounds like one of the more bohemian neighborhoods of Wellington...maybe a bit of Berkeley...and is a convenient 15 minute walk to the center of town, but a pleasant and leafy place despite the proximity. Who could ask for anything more.
