Peaceful Guest House
We get in touch with Michelle & Lee and the Texans Nick & Courtney from the trek and go meet them for yet one more final goodbye. As it is sunday, the large night market is on, so we check it out for an hour or so and enquire about hiring climbing gear with Courtney and Nick. This is stupidly expensive so we decide to wait until Krabi to climb.
We eat some crap food at an Indian Restaurant before watching a local cover band at a bar, ending the night at 1am
We wake up around 9am and go for breakfast at our old favourite coffee cafe from 5 years ago, Black Canyon Coffee. We sort out some postcards and say goodbye again to Lee & Michelle. Due to the crazy devastation in Japan, they cannot catch their flight, so head to Singapore to sort out alternative arrangements.
That evening we take a cooking course with the Texans, which was definitely worth the 700 baht each. We made Pad Thai, Chicken & Cashew Nut, Green Curry Chicken and Flambeed Bananas, all of which we devoured by the end of the course. The best Thai food yet! After we head out for a drink and wander around the night bazaar before going back to Peaceful to read and update.
A relaxing day. We have breakfast at Black Canyon Coffee again, post our letters and have a walk around the City, enjoying a bit of Cafe Culture whilst researching available jobs in New Zealand and updating our CV's. Jamie finishes a book in a day "And The Hippos Boiled In Their Tanks", by Burrows & Kerouac
We eat at Jerusalem Falafel, which was expensive but delicious with homemade hummus and haloumi. We meet the texans for a drink at Joe's Place, whilst deciding our next move to Pai.
14/3/11 £42.50 including £28 cooking course
