At 8.30am we rocked up in the town of Hoi An, surrounded by numerous tailor and shoe shops and chinese architecture. We booked ourselves in at Phuong Dong Hotel for $13 a night and had a walk around the town.

Budget aside, over the next couple of days we indulged in a few necessities such as a new pair of nike high tops, tailor made shirts and  a couple of birthday present dresses off Jamie for dirt cheap prices. Being valentines, we found a lovely small patisserie called Cargos where we bought take away cakes to eat by the Japanese Bridge. Our best find was Cafe 43, a well run local cafe with beautifully made food and fresh beer at 6 pence per pint. Jamie and Nico (who we found once again on the bus to Hoi An) opted for a set menu one evening at $6, which included Vietnamese classic dishes of Kao Lao, Wonton, Squid with lemon and mint, and pork fried with lemongrass and chilli. The 5 of us spent the late evenings drinking whiskey and telling stories of travels

We enjoyed investigating the town, the local shops and markets, being fitted for outfits, eating at cafe 43 and as usual taking numerous photographs In Hoi An.
