Oh No! The alarms fail to wake us, and we have knocking on our door. Quick pack, rush to bus, and we are on our way to Cambodia. Think we can be excused as we went 48 hours without sleep.

We meet some people, and at 120 miles an hour we all have one thing in common (the driver laughs when people ask him to slow down). There is Julian the French on his way to Koh Chang, and the soon to be renowned, Crazy Russians. Skip ahead 1 week and they are not so crazy after all, possibly some of the nicest people we have ever met, but at this stage, they are crazy. Roma and his wife Nika approach us as we discuss destinations, and it is obvious in their eyes they have not slept. He speaks little English, and Nika speaks none. They unfold a scrappy map of middle Cambodia with arrows pointing between Bangkok, Phnom Pehn, and Siem Reap. We ask if this was their route and Roma says no, points to an area not even on the piece of paper and says, 'We find Island to live, no house, no civilization. In Cambodia, you can easy drink, smoke, and fuck!' He pulls out some cheap Scottish whiskey and hands it around along with some Russian chocolate. Roma flicks through some pictures of the night before and explains to us that they had met a guy and smoked ice with him and his Filipino wife who had a recent boob job. The pictures are of them taking it in turns to pose next to the football sized breasts. Turns out they are not going the same way as us so we are split up at the Cambodian Border.

What a pain border crossing is! Ready to punch the next person who wants a tip or to scam in the face, we finally make it into Cambodia. Instantly different, it is obvious how rich Thailand is, but even the landscape and vegetation is dissimilar.

We rock up in Krong Koh Kong for the night in a very nice guesthouse and share drinks with some others. It has been a chaotic few days, and we look forward to relaxing on the Islands around Sihanoukville.

Total 18 quid (not including visas)
Visas 1200 Baht each (ripped off!)
