Its been a while, basically my wireless link has been down for four weeks.  Fixed by an unlikely lad in a remote cove.   Sam and Paddy Maling stayed for a ten days and we sailed down to Ecincik for a few days, fabulous restaurant and great day tour up the Kaunus river with turtles, ruins and pretty villages.  We did various day sails and some inland visits. The Turks are so friendly, kind and easy going which makes moving around so easy.   Then Sal and James came on board and we have had a marvellous two weeks - 225 miles of great sailing.   I listened to advice and first day was a short sail to Cliftlik, then on to Bozuk Buku and finally to Pethi in Simi, for one night and then into Simi village - simply stunning condensed village and dropped an aanchor and backed into the wharf which was in the middle of the town.  Boats everywhere.   From there to Semilye and our new friend gold tooth - all gold teeth.   On to Keke Buku, idylic cove in a sstrong wind for a couple of days, on to Palamut round the Datca peninsula on to a tiny little bay called Buyuk Cati and then round the corner in big seas to English Harbour and a very friendly taverna.  President has a place here and they shouted and blew whistles as we sailed into sacred space.  On to Sorgut, back to a different spot in English Harbour amidst a huge blow and 20 gullets anchored around us.  Then a lovely sail to Cokertime and again an excellent sail to Kos, Greece, though at round 30 knots on the nose with a big sea the boat goes absolutely nowhere, backwards it seems so at the end pulled the sails down and motored the last hour.  Sal & James have left for eastern Europe and I am relaxing.   Deans boys arrive by ferry tonight and we will leave for northern Greek islands - winds permitting!!

Glad to hear you are still with us. Still surprised with the strength of the winds, but at least you are in the best parts. Simi and around Sogut, English harbour are just fantastic. I must say we were warned about getting too far down that bay - there was no humour when the pres is in residence.
I just had a word to Steve and he tells me you are a complete expert now - well done and it wasnt really hard was it! You are certainly covering the ground and that says a lot for the confidence. Most impressive.
The photos are great and bring back all the memories.
Anyway all v good this end. Just got back from a wonderful break with Tim and Nicki in Vanuatu. Rested and raring to go again!
Look forward to the next installment

Carolineand the kids are due home this Sat morning so I am busy cleaning and tidying. The weather here is still dismal - I miss the lovely warm settled days in Turkey on Aphrodite.
