Today was my last day at Quinnipiac until next Fall. Though I was excited to leave and be done with finals, it was hard saying goodbye to all my friends. I know I am going to keep in touch with them when I'm abroad, but it is almost like I am leaving a part of me behind. It's also sad thinking about how long I'm going to be away from my family, especially my parents and my sister. Even though I am seven hours from home when I am at Quinnipiac I go home for breaks and get a chance to see my family again, but I will be away in Ireland for a full five months. The thought of that is a bit scary to me, though my parents probably think that I just want to be as far as possible from them, that's not true at all. I will probably miss them and my sister most of all.
Don't get me wrong, I could not be more excited for this amazing opportunity to come, but it is weird to think about not having my friends or family close by. I am really lucky though because three of my really good friends Jenna, Sarah, and Suzy are going to Ireland too which I am very happy about.
That all being said, I couldn't be more excited to be going to Ireland and start this new chapter in my life. Now I just have to stress about packing, go to Poughkeepsie for Christmas and then in 17 days I will be on a plane headed for Ireland!
