We had originally not planned to spend anymore time in LA, having spent a couple of days in Santa Monica/Venice. But the lure of the big city, and a football game on Saturday drew us back in.
So we drove down Interstate 5 without a place to stay, but a couple of emails enquiring about last minute availability.
Luckily one of the responses said that her 2 bedroom apartment was unavailable, but her 4 bedroom flat was free, and she offered it to us for a very deep discount. It is gorgeous, a 1920's architect-designed art deco Californian bit of paradise, in the Hollywood foothills. A short walk from Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards, and surrounded by Hollywood mansions. Just what we were after - a place that we could spend our last bit of the holiday in relaxing comfort, where Toby could play to his heart's content.
