Today's mission was to get as close to Yosemite as possible. But first, we had a mission to visit Mission, the San Franciscan latino district SoMa.
Intriguing graffiti art, 7 a side soccer, and a profusion of taquerias characterised the neighborhood. There were many murals decrying the rapid gentrification and the onslaught of condos, and I can see why.
Then we headed down the coast. The Pacific Ocean was (as per usual) shrouded by cloud, but it was still a great drive. Was incredible to see farms right up to the coastline for much of the journey, I guess you couldn't get fresher air for the artichokes. But eventually we headed inland, across the rich agriculture, plains, past the irrigation storages (half empty- water shortages happen here too) towards the Sierra Nevada's.
