We finished off Chicago with a quick postcards tour of the city before heading off to catch the California Zephyr, a fifty two hour journey to San Francisco. We are housed in a little sleepette, consisting of two seats which turn into bunk beds, considering the size of our little room, we are very comfortable.
The train quickly sped through the city scene into open corn fields (or the 'corn belt' as the locals call it) of Illinois and across the Mississippi into Iowa.
It has been an interesting experience so far, as we get to meet so many people from across the States, sharing their stories of where they have been or where they are going to, and of course Toby is winning a few hearts as well.
